Our History
In 1926, the bank was incorporated as the Washington Rock Building and Loan Association. Fourteen years later, its name changed to Investors Savings and Loan. Through mergers, acquisitions and internal expansion, the bank grew and prospered. Today, we aim to become the largest community bank headquartered in the State of New Jersey.
In 1997, Investors changed from a New Jersey-chartered mutual savings bank to a New Jersey-chartered stock savings bank, and we reorganized as a two-tiered holding company. Investors Savings Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of Investors Bancorp, Inc., a Delaware-chartered, mid-tier stock holding company, and Investors Bancorp Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Investors Bancorp MHC. In addition, we formed a mortgage-banking subsidiary, ISB Mortgage Co., LLC. This greatly enhanced our ability to deliver a wide range of lending products and services. In 2005, Investors Bancorp Inc. became a public company. Today, we trade shares of common stock on the NASDAQ (ticker symbol: ISBC).
Investors Savings Bank has grown rapidly over the past few years, and we continue to review strategic growth opportunities within the Garden State. This growth will allow us to expand our offerings to consumers, businesses, nonprofits and local government agencies. At the same time, we continue to focus on "putting the community back into community banking," by delivering world-class customer service to all segments of our market and improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.
